Posting Guidelines for the mailing-list

The mailing-list has a large number of very helpful people who have a lot of experience with MailScanner and will offer free advice and assistance to anyone who asks.

Do's

  • Be polite.
  • Do your homework first - MailScanner has extensive documentation (see below).
  • Use a descriptive subject line.
  • Be concise yet descriptive.
  • When reporting a problem - make sure to describe your set-up e.g. CPU speed, Memory, Operating System, MailScanner version and your MTA version.
  • Quote appropriate sections of a post you’re responding to in order to keep the context clear.

Dont's

  • Be rude to others.
  • Post at the top when replying to a message.
  • Post in HTML.
  • Ask questions that are well covered in the documentation or the MAQ (Most asked Questions) or found simply by searching through the comments in MailScanner.conf.
